tell Republicans
to 'shut up'.
Did they shut up when Conservatives told them
to 'shut up'?
While the nation may be telling republicans to go moderate, perhaps they aren’t listening. The question is this, if you believe strongly in your cause, should anyone, on the basis that ‘your out of touch with’ this mythical ‘mainstream america’ that this is reason to abandon your principles, your efforts to convince others that YOUR plans are best?
After all, progressivism has been a dirty word for years, with politicians running as far as they can from any remote association with that word. Now, progressivism is a hotter trending keyword than republican, gop, democrat, libertarian, combined…..not even close. You guys have won the field….for now. But less than 5 years ago, you were still an underground movement, extremely well-funded, but underground.
So conservatism, such as it is, may be ‘dead’ right now, but America is still a land of ‘change’. Unless progressives can give us liberty, real choice, and self-power with all their central-controlled engineering, then the nation will soon reject them, and conservatism will be the hot trend.
If that happens, let us document this moment in time when progressives tried to convince a signficant proportion of America to ’shut up’ because they were ‘out of touch with mainstream America’.
When you were told those very things, did you shut up? You kept on going, and so will they, for opposition, conflict are the underlying secrets of America’s greatness, that no one side can win for good, that no one side can maintain absolute control of this American land.
